Obituary for George Pierre Cadoret

George Pierre Cadoret, 59, of Albany, NY passed away Thursday, February 22nd at Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. George was born April 30, 1958 to James Dainyeau Cadoret and Emma "Phyllis" Flanders. He was the youngest of seven children and preceded in death by his sister Emily Cole of Mayfield, NY and his brother Franklin of Broadalbin, NY. George is survived by Yvonne Louise Lynds of Cambridge, NY. David Cadoret also of Cambridge, Donald Cadoret of Schenectady, NY and John Cadoret of East Dorset, Vermont. Also George is survived by a daughter Amy Louise Jennings of Raymond, Mississippi, her husband Chuck and three grandchildren, Audrey 13, Clara 10 and Caleb 7. A son William Joseph Barker of Hartland, Vermont, his wife Jessica and grandchildren William II, 22 and Jasmine 20 and a great grandson William III. Also survived by many nieces and nephews to the third generation and cousins.

George went through 8th grade at Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster, Vermont and high schools at Hoosick Falls Central in NY and Burr and Burton Seminary in Manchester, Vermont. George joined the United States Air Force in 1977. He worked as a auto mechanic, lumberjack, woodworker, custodian, farmer, traveling carnival hand and truck driver. In his later years he worked at the Veteran's Administration as a Peer Support Specialist helping other veterans dealing with mental illness. He traveled to Memphis in 2005 and gave a speech on the subject.

Besides his family, grandchildren and veteran comrades, he loved telling jokes traveling, auto mechanics and always putting others before himself.

Wake and a Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00-4:00 pm. Graveside will be held Monday, March 5th at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Stratton Veterans VA, in c/o the Oncology Department, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 or to Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.

The family wishes to send our sincere thanks to all the wonderful and caring nurses, doctors, case workers and hospice workers at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany Medical Center and Stratton VA.
